What Gabriel's Gift will include:
1) Disposable cameras- These will be accessable to nurses and hospital staff to capture moments that families share with their babies. Sometimes, families are unprepared for what little time they have. In other instances, mothers may be brought in to the hospital in an emergency situation. In many cases, families are not prepared, emotionally or otherwise, with a camera in hand. These cameras would help to provide families with lasting memories of their precious angels.
2) Clay Keepsake Kits- These kits will be provided to the families and a nurse or social worker will imprint the babies hands and feet in either pink or blue clay. Opposite the imprints, there is space for baby's picture. This is a very special keepsake for families to treasure.
3) Baptismal Items- When necessary, babies can be baptized immediately after birth. Babies recieving this sacrement in the hospital will recieve the Baptismal candle and garment that is given to all babies who are baptized in the church. 4) Handmade angels- Each family will recieve a special, handmade stuffed angel that has been donated to Gabriel's Gift. These angels are often used as a Christmas ornaments, and prove to be a sweet and special way to include the baby in the family's Christmas tradition. The angels can also be kept out year round to sit in a special place and watch over the family.
Families will speak to a staff member to decide which items they would like to recieve. They can choose to accept all items if they wish, or just the one's that they feel would be the most important to them.
